Making its way from the engine through the transmission & differential, it comes down to the rear axles to transmit all that torque to the tyres. Using stronger axles will ensure that power gets transmitted into actual performance gains. Are your current axles up to it, or are they going to let you down?

The Aeroflow performance Ford 9” cut-to-fit axles allow you to build your custom-width rear end easily. They are available in 28 and 31 spline, with a range of stud patterns, and axle lengths. They are induction heat-treated forged 4140 steel construction axles with a natural finish. The axle core hardness is rated HRC 24-28, and the surface has a HRC rating above 52.

All axles use a 0.685” (17.30mm) knurl diameter for wheel studs, which are included in this kit, along with the axle retaining plate, bearing kit, and bearing collar.

The 28 Spline option axles are drilled for 5 studs with a 4.5” wheel bolt pattern. While the 31 Spline options are drilled for 5 studs with 4.5” and 4.75” wheel bolt patterns.

The axles use the new style big bearing ends on it, which measures 3.150” (80mm) with a 2.5” (63.50mm) offset.

The center of the axle flange (hub pilot) measures 3.055” (77.59mm). The O.D. of the axle flange measures 5.93” (150.62mm).

They are available in 28 Spline with lengths of 28” (711.20mm) and 32” (812.80mm) with a spline length of 4” (101.6mm).

The 31 Spline comes in lengths of 23" (584.20mm), 26” (660.40mm), 29” (736.90mm), 32” (812.80mm) and 35” (889mm) with a spline length of 4” (101.6mm).

Axle length is measured from the flange to the end of the splines, and it’s recommended to have at least 1” (25.4mm) of spline engagement on all axles.
